All financial institutions are required to comply with the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009 also known as the CARD Act. The Federal Reserve Board now requires that all billing statements for open end loans be mailed at least 21 days prior to the next payment due date. This requirement should have no effect on the manner in which you are paying your loan and you will not need to sign any additional forms. All loans now have a due date of the 28th or later in the month. Lynchburg Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union does not have a pre-payment penalty on any loan. We will provide a monthly statement that will be mailed on the 1st of each month, which includes your previous month history, payment due date, and all information as needed on your loan.
